Building our Future By Saving our Past:

We are truly fortunate to have so many supporters, and we're excited about the growth of the organization over the years. But in order to meet the expectations of a community that values history the way that Johnson County residents do, we simply need more help. Therefore we have launched the "Building Our Future by Saving Our Past" capital campaign. To learn how you can help, please click the picture below to review our capital campaign brochure. If you have additional questions, or would like  to find out more about our campaign goals, call  351-5738 or e-mail questions@johnsoncountyhistory.org. Thank you very much for your part in saving history.

Testimonials:

"I strongly support the mission of the Johnson County Historical Society, and know that with increased assistance JCHS will become an even more vital resource to residents throughout the county as it presents new and innovative programs, exhibits, and educational activities, and enlarges its preservation efforts."

- Kristin Summerwill

"We are pleased to support Johnson County Historical Society's capital campaign. With additional resources, there's no question that JCHS will greatly enhance its ability to provide interpretation of our rich ethnic heritage and culture, and JCHS will continue to increase its preservation and exhibition of thousands of artifacts to serve all of Johnson County's inhabitants and visitors past, present, and in the future."

-Terry and Ann Smothers

"The mission of the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce is to actively foster a better business environment. Quality of life is an important part of this mission, and we are pleased to have the Johnson County Historical Society contributing to our sense of community."

- Nancy Quellhorst

"The Johnson County Historical Society museum is a dynamic place where the public is drawn into actively learning about the history of our county. The Historical Society develops very relevant and interactive exhibits, and also engages visitors through a wide variety of programming. Some visitors like the older history and others appreciate the more recent themes-things we remember from our youth. Whichever person you are, make sure to connect with JCHS."
